The HP-8 mini block plane is a useful tool for model ship builders for planing wood planking strips to a uniform thickness. It takes up less space and makes less mess than a powered thickness sander.

Great Little Block Plane

I bought this Plane and I really like it. I'm not a professional wood worker, I'm just getting started but I was really surprised at the weight and heft of this (fits in the palm of your hand) small little plane. The fit and finish along with the high quality make it top notch in my books. I'm very excited to have this plane and if it works as good as it looks and feels they have a terrific winner on their hands. I'm new to woodworking but I'm really happy to have it as one of my finishing tools. It is solidly built and the fit and finish are just outstanding. Give this tool a shot if your looking for good quality tools, you can't go wrong.

Great little plane!

In the past Bridge City tools have been quite expensive. However, they are exceptionally high quality tools and their prices have become more reasonable. This little plane is very hand and will live in my shop apron. I highly recommend the the blade sharpening jig made specifically for the HP-8 Mini Block Plane. The blade is small and my fat fingers would have a very difficult time holding an accurate blade angle while hand sharpening.

Bridge city rulz!

Packaging, shipping time, tool quality and attention to detail are always spot on.
Bonus is, this little hand plane is already scary sharp right out of the box.
