A gift as precise as the work.
It is perfect for woodworking and all hobbies. As you can see from the photographs, the BV-1 really shines when working on minute details of parts that are impossible to hold. Multiple vises and chucks can be used simultaneously, creating a very versatile workholding atmosphere.
The BV-1 consists of a powder coated steel base clamp unit, one 1/4"chuck, a small 2" vise, a pair of anodized aluminum pin jaws for the vise and an assortment of pins to hold just about anything you can conjure. Capacity of the vise without the pin jaws is approximately 2-1/4", and 1-3/4" with the jaws attached. The chuck will hold all diameters up to 1/4". The vise and chuck are affixed to the clamp arm with a threaded nut. Additional chucks and vises may be ordered separately.
The specially designed work holding pins slip in any of the holes in the aluminum pin jaws and allow you to clamp non-linear edges and surfaces. In addition to tightening the jaws of the vise to trap work between the pins, you can also spread the jaws to hold work—a classic example is using pins to “grab a hole”.
The BV-1 is an extraordinary new tool that will allow you to address all of your small work holding needs at just about any angle. This is the perfect tool for woodworkers, carvers, model makers, model railroad enthusiasts, electronic hobbies, soldering, jewelry making, clock repair and scores of other interests. It’s fast to set up and equally fast to put away when not needed.
