KM-2 Kerf Maker
NOTE: We are expecting the Kerfmaker 2 to be delivered to our warehouse the week of December 15th! We will ship them out as soon as we receive them in stock.
Both the KM-1 and KM-2 Kerfmakers make sizing grooves and dado cuts painlessly easy.
While the KM-1 is limited to a maximum stock width of 2 inches, the KM-2 Kerfmaker will allow you to make cross laps and other joints with stock up to 100mm (4 inches) in width. With a wider capacity, you can now use the KM-2 with a dado head and it can be calibrated to any kerf size up to 25mm (1 inch) in width.
In addition, magnets are embedded in the end of the two reference faces to hold the KM-2 in place so you do not need to by hand. The KM-2 also comes with a red magnetic reference stop which can be clamped in place and used either in the vertical or horizontal position. Another useful function of the magnets? Attach the KM-2 and stop directly to your saw when not in use.
Whether you own a table saw, chop saw, radial arm saw, the Jointmaker Pro, router table or any other tool that makes a clean kerf, you can use the KM-2 to expand that kerf to suit your needs. It is an amazing little tool that has earned our coveted "Bacon Saver" status. This means you will get gallery quality results every time you use the Kerfmaker. The KM-2 is perfect for: Frame work, box makers, shoji screens, torsion boxes, carcase work, drawer making, and the list goes on. It is a tool that once used, you will never want to lose. The concept is simple: the Kerfmaker is first "calibrated" to the particular cutting tool’s exact kerf. This is a one-time step. You then simply gauge the thickness of your stock with the Kerfmaker, lock, and you now can use the Kerfmaker as a flip stop to create a groove the exact width of your stock! This ingeniously designed and patented tool is fast and potently accurate.
The KM-2 closed is 7-1/8" (181.5 mm) in length,1-3/4" Tall (44 mm), and 5/8" thick (16mm). It gauges stock width up to 4" (100 mm) with a maximum kerf of 1-1/6" (27 mm).
